Bokshil, the beloved dog’s owner, decided to move away, leaving behind the adorable pup for reasons unknown. The heartbroken dog stayed close to her home, faithfully waiting for her owner’s return for a decade.
As reported in a YouTube video shared by South Korean broadcaster SBS TV, this endearing dog unfortunately lost her sight during the long wait for her owner’s comeback.
Although left to fend for herself on the streets, caring neighbors attempted to assist her. Despite their efforts to relocate her, she chose to remain in her familiar spot. They kindly provide her with food while she rests on the street, and they even constructed a sheltered space for her to sleep at night.
While peeling a boiled egg and kindly offering it to the dog, a compassionate neighbor observed that the dog had no teeth, making eating a challenge for her.
“I heard that the owner abandoned her,” the neighbor shared with SBS TV, “likely due to a lack of resources to provide proper care.”
“Now she’s like a grandmother, and my heart truly goes out to her,” she added with empathy.
The video captures the touching moment when the dog is taken to a veterinary clinic for treatment. The veterinarian assessed her condition as generally good, but diagnosed her with “senile cataracts” that caused blurry eyesight.
Being on the streets, this situation must have heightened her fear and anxiety, as she pondered whether each approaching person could potentially be her owner.
