CAIC Z-10 attack helicopters participated for the first time in a recent Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Hong Kong Garrison patrolling exercise.
The garrison has ordered this helicopter to provide escort and air support for other helicopters, watercraft, and ground forces during joint operations.
According to the Global Times, the PLA garrison in Hong Kong recently conducted a joint air and sea patrol during the year’s second season, with training courses comprising patrolling and search and rescue.
The CAIC Z-10 is a medium attack helicopter designed by the Chinese government for the People’s Liberation Army Ground Force. It is primarily built for anti-tank warfare operations but is capable of maritime strikes, coordination with naval vessels, and close-range air support for ground troops.
Due to its modular design concept, the Z-10 attack helicopter can be armed with various weapons. Offensive weaponry consists of machine guns, cannons, rockets, and missiles. The short wings have two hardpoints, each for a total of four. Each hardpoint can carry up to 4 missiles.
