From Victim to Victor: Mike Tyson Opens Up About the Powerful Moment He Taught His Childhood Bully a Brutal Lesson

Boxing legend Mike Tyson admitted that he showed no mercy to his childhood bully when he later confronted him to exact his revenge.

In a piece he wrote for the New York Magazine, ‘Iron’ Mike opened up about his horrible experience of being bullied when he was younger.

The 53-year-old ex-boxing superstar was chubbier when he was young, wore glasses and also showed early signs of a speech impediment.

Tyson revealed that his mother lost her job when he was younger and his family were forced to move to a rough area of Brooklyn, which was dominated by violence and drugs.

The ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ explained that things took a turn for the worse when he was in the first grade as an older boy attempted to steal his lunch.

Tyson tried to defend himself and stop the boy from taking his food, which ended with him getting beaten up and having his glasses stolen and put “down the gas tank of a truck.”

The former undisputed world heavyweight champ said that the experience made him “still feel like a coward to this day.”

Tyson explained: “I still feel like a coward to this day because of that bullying. That’s a wild feeling, being that helpless. You never ever forget that feeling.”

‘Iron’ Mike would become one of the most feared and destructive boxers during the 1980s.

But Tyson couldn’t overlook his history with bullies and admitted that he began to hunt down anybody that made his life hell when he was younger.

The ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ said that he beat up the bully in the streets “like a f*****g dog for humiliating me.”

Tyson explained: “I began to exact some revenge for the beatings I had taken from bullies.

“I’d be walking with some friends, and I might see one of the guys who beat me up and bullied me years earlier.

“He might have gone into a store shopping, and I would drag his a*s out of the store and start pummeling him.

“I didn’t even tell my friends why, I’d just say, ‘I hate that motherf****r over there,’ and they’d jump in too and rip his f*****g clothes and beat his f*****g a*s.

“That guy who took my glasses and threw them away? I beat him in the streets like a f*****g dog for humiliating me. He may have forgotten about it, but I never did.”
