Mike Tyson is an extremely dangerous fighter both in the ring and on the streets due to his fearsome strength. However, former UFC champion Chuck Liddell is very confident that he would defeat Mike in a no-rules fight.
Just like Mike Tyson, Chuck Liddell also had a reputation as a formidable force during his prime. While he may not possess the “one-punch knockout” power of Mike Tyson, he has a wild and sweeping fighting style. While Mike Tyson had an impressive winning streak of 37 consecutive fights, Chuck Liddell also defeated numerous MMA stars of his time, such as Victor Belfort, Randy Couture, and Tito Ortiz.
With comparisons of toughness and dominance between these two martial arts legends, fans often speculate about a hypothetical face-off between the two fighters. Each fighter has their own domain, but that hasn’t stopped fans from imagining possible scenarios for a match. Chuck Liddell, however, remains confident about a street fight with Mike Tyson and believes he would come out victorious.
“In a street fight, I would win,” Liddell said. “I mean, he has a chance against a boxer.”
“He has a chance to get me while I’m coming in. But other than that, it’s over.”
Such a bold statement challenging Mike Tyson has surely captured the attention of many fans who would be eager to witness the clash of these two legends. However, Chuck has not had a fight since his loss to Tito Ortiz last year, and Mike Tyson retired from boxing in 2005.
Mike Tyson and Chuck Liddell have also crossed paths multiple times.
Many believe that Chuck should also retire, but he remains undecided about continuing to compete. Dana White, Chuck’s close friend, has his own opinion on the matter.
“Chuck Liddell is almost 50 years old and shouldn’t continue fighting.”
“He’s a grown man and can do whatever he wants, but let me tell you this. If any fight gets sanctioned by a commission….” Dana White spoke about Chuck Liddell.
Chuck Liddell’s most recent fight was the third encounter with Tito Ortiz in 2018, which ended in a victory for Tito Ortiz. This was his fourth consecutive loss since his win against Wanderlei Silva in 2007. Perhaps Chuck Liddell should consider Dana White’s advice about retirement, as the legendary MMA fighter seems to be on the decline of his career.
